Ever since super-catchy lead single “Coming of Age” hit the web back in January, we’ve been dying to hear the new Foster the People album ‘Supermodel,’ and today is our lucky day.
Supermodel is slated for a March 18th release (March 14th in several other countries), so we’ll be able to get our hands on it soon enough, but it can now be listened to via iTunes.
The nostalgic sounding, reflective “Coming of Age” hit our eardrums in all the right ways, immediately entering into our daily playlists. Just as the lyrics might lead you to believe, new songs like “Best Friend” and “Pseudologia Fantastica” show a more mature sound than that found on hit debut album Torches.
Supermodel represents the LA indie pop trio’s sophomore studio effort and is solid from start to finish. The eleven jamming tracks are sure to get your head nodding and your feat moving, as was the case with Torches, even though we’re dealing with a more serious, perhaps negative and pessimistic subject matter here. Oh how growing up and observing society can paint a negative light on things.

We previously wrote about their upcoming U.S./Canadian tour that has garnered plenty of hype. It will take them from Austin, TX (playing SXSW this Friday) to the end of the May playing headlining shows. The second leg will feature St. Lucia as supporting artist.
Along the way they’ll sprinkle in festival appearances, including the just-announced Osheaga 2014 in Montreal, which takes place August 1st to 3rd at Parc Jean Drapeau with headliners OutKast, Jack White, and the Arctic Monkeys.
